Our rooms are in 7 separate buildings. All have ensuite bathrooms, safe deposit lockers, mini frig, coffee/tea makers.
Royal and Superior rooms are air conditioned. Standard rooms are air cooled.
 
Dining  Breakfast is a la carte. Other meals are table d’hote, either at the Main Table or if you prefer individual tables. Lunches feature chilled soups and light western fare. The evening meal highlights Indian recipes from your host’s cookbook Cooking of the Maharajahs. There is no fixed dining room; meals are truly a moveable feast!

What to wear  Cool clothes are a must. Maheshwar is a conservative town. When venturing into town, ladies should dress conservatively, no sleeveless blouses, short skirts or shorts, one piece bathing suit if swimming in the river. A shawl for the evening is welcome in winter.
 
Credit Cards  Visa, Master, American express. There is a cash machine in town, which works… sometimes.
 
Tips Please do not give individual tips. We have a staff appreciation box where, if you feel it is merited, a general tip can be given. This is distributed once a year, and comes to a tidy sum for all staff members.

Pests Mosquitoes are a minor nuisance; we suggest using anti mosquito cream, and stay covered around sunrise and sunset.
 
Facilities An internet/computer room is available for guests, and several parts of Ahilya Fort are covered by wi-fi. Television is available in the library. We have an in-house tailor who can copy your favorite blouse overnight in a stunning Maheshwari fabric. Our boats are available for excursions on the Narmada River. Massage room for traditional Maheshwari massage.
 
Excursions Mandu, Bakawa,and Omkareshwar are 1.5 hours away, and make for an interesting day’s outing. A visit to Rehwa Society, and see and buy Maheshwar’s famous traditional hand woven textiles. A 5 minute walk from Ahilya Fort.
